Server Rules
Global Server Rules
Overview
Important
The intent of these rules are to ensure members are LFGing in an ad, drama, and cheat free environment. They assist in fostering a comfortable and healthy community for all who are willing to abide by them.
Warning
Any punishments added to an account will remain regardless of who was using the account at the time the infraction occurred. Ultimately, the use and security of your Discord account are your responsibility.
There are no loopholes in these rules.
Moderators reserve the right to punish line-treading rule violations at their discretion.
All text channels are English only.
Moderators must be able to read all messages sent.
Do not bait others into breaking the rules.
Do not craft messages with the intent to bait another member into breaking the rules.
You may not appeal punishments.
Neither you nor a friend on your behalf are able to appeal punishments. Moderations made that were not in error are final.
Contact Staff by DMing Modmail.
Do not ping random Staff members when you have an issue. Instead, consider reaching out to Modmail with your concern or report. Thank you.
Rule 1 No Advertising, Self Promotion, or Begging
Respect the Discord server by not selling anything or advertising other communities, projects, etc. without the consent of the Staff team.
Begging of any form is not allowed.
You are to not beg for anything from others on the server.
Do not sell or trade anything here.
This is not a marketplace. You may not sell or trade your account, mods, or do anything involving a monetary transaction.
Note
Selling and/or trading accounts is also against Activision Terms of Service, and the ToS of other platforms such as Steam, Xbox, PSN, etc.
No community, Discord, or clan recruitments.
We do not allow recruiting or sending invites to other communities, discords, or clans.
Zombies stream content goes in #zombies-streams.
DM Modmail to ask about advertising.
Rule 2 No NSFW or Disruptive Content
Do not post explicit or suggestive content. Do not intentionally post disruptive content that starts drama or arguments.
Includes everything associated with your profile.
Do not put anything explicit, or suggestive on anything that is associated with you such as profile pictures and statuses. Includes messages sent that include external emotes, stickers, etc.
Suggestive content may be treated as NSFW.
Trolling is not allowed.
Rule 3 No Disrespect or Drama
Please be respectful to others on the server and do not engage in drama or arguments in public channels.
No harassment or insults towards other players.
Do not insult others by name calling, reply pinging when users ask you to stop, making accusations (witch hunting), etc.
Keep arguments out of the server.
Do not argue in public channels or cause drama, this does not belong in the server.
Note
Both users (no matter who started) will be punished should this occur.
Racism, homophobia, etc. are never allowed.
Rule 4 No Spamming or Off-Topic Content
Do not spam pings, emotes, caps, or LFG messages. Likewise, please post content in the proper channels. (Use the channel descriptions)
Keep all messages in the correct channels.
Do not look for groups outside of the "Looking for Group" category. Similarly, do not hold discussions outside of the "Discussion" category.
Note
Only very minimal discussion is allowed in an LFG channel such as discussing what map you want to play, strategy overview, etc.
Do not spam multiple channels
Keep your LFG request (or message in general) to the relevant channel only and do not place it anywhere else.
Do not post GIFs or other irrelevant media.
GIFs and other irrelevant content are extremely distracting and divert attention away from those looking for groups, discussing, or trying to hold a conversation.
Rule 5 No Piracy or Gamesharing
Do not commit, discuss, hint, advocate, or joke about piracy. Similarly, do not ask randoms to violate platform ToS by asking others to gameshare with you.

The act of piracy is against the law, Discord Guidelines, and our rules.
Important
Discord (and by extension) our server are bound by U.S. law. Therefore the Copyright Infringement Act applies to our server. By breaching the piracy-related rules below, you are violating U.S. law and the Discord Terms of Service. There is a zero tolerance policy for this.
Plutonium only allowed if you own a legal copy.
You may not use anything other than a legal Steam or a CD/DVD copy in tandem with Plutonium to look for groups using the launcher.
Important
If you obtained the game for free in any way outside of being gifted, you likely have committed piracy.
Other third-party clients are not allowed.
Clients such as RektT5, IW6x, BGamer, and all others fall under this scope and are not allowed for LFGing.
Do not ask for others to gameshare with you.
Asking other members to gameshare (sometimes referred to as Family Share) with you against the Terms of Service for every online marketplace (see sources below). Do not ask that others compromise their account and security because you do not want to purchase the content yourself.
If caught sharing your login info, you’ll be permanently suspended.
If billing information is on the account, the other person can use it to buy lots of stuff.
You’re responsible for everything that happens on your account.
Is your email attached to your account? They can read it. (Microsoft)
If they change your password, good luck in ever recovering it.

"You are responsible for the confidentiality of your login and password and for the security of your computer system. Valve is not responsible for the use of your password and Account or for all of the communication and activity on Steam that results from use of your login name and password by you, or by any person to whom you may have intentionally or by negligence disclosed your login and/or password in violation of this confidentiality provision."
Note
Gamesharing is a feature meant for use only with trusted friends and family, not random members of a Discord server.
Important
Should the other person use your account to break the Code of Conduct, your account can be suspended and there’s nothing you can do about it.
Note
There is no reason you should ever be talking or discussing about gamesharing. Even if your content was gameshared legitimately with your friends or family, there is no reason to state this. If you have an issue with your game because of gamesharing, you may not ask for help with it in our community.
Warning
This rule is zero tolerance. You will be permanently banned if you violate this rule.
Rule 6 No Voice Communication Abuse
Act appropriate and do not annoy or insult others (includes bot usage) when in a voice channel.
Be respectful by not being annoying, loud, or using soundboards.
Annoying is subjective. Though if multiple people are asking you to stop or not do something, please cease doing that action. Do not use soundboards unless everyone in the voice chat consents.

Do not play obnoxious, ridiculously long, or extremely loud media.
Tip
If you frequent voice channels, it is a good idea to use recording software alongside the Discord overlay to properly catch and report voice channel abusers.
Rule 7 No Staff Disrespect or Punishment Evasion
Staff are doing their job when interacting with rule-violating Members. Please do not impede on their ability or insult them during this process.
Do not disrespect or disrupt Staff.
If a Moderator makes a verbal warning, immediately cease the rule violation or change the topic of discussion back to the channel’s intended purpose. Do not disrespect or impede Staff’s moderation duties.
Evading mutes make them permanent.
Do not attempt to evade your mute, it will only make it permanent. We do not remove permanent mutes by those trying to evade. A moderator will have to remove your mute if it becomes permanent (this does not happen often).
You may only have one account on the server.
Do not join with an alternate account onto the server or use one to evade a punishment.
Do not imitate Staff or backseat moderate.
Do not imitate Staff by backseat moderating, changing usernames to match Staff, or claim that you are a Staff member.
Do not complain about punishments in public channels.
Public channels are not the place for complaining about moderations you received. By doing this, you will only receive a harsher punishment against your account.
Rule 8 No Cheating, Glitching, or Exploiting
Respect the games and those that play it. Our server is a strict no cheating environment and you will be punished for doing this.
Unfair multiplayer advantages are prohibited.
Any malicious cheating, glitching, or exploit discussion on the server is strictly not allowed.
Note
If it is discussion related and not malciously attempting to inform or distribute, it may be allowed (at Moderator discretion). For example, you may discuss the Jet Gun knifing “glitch” or how to remove George Romero’s lightning shock as they have been deemed legitimate strategies. You may not discuss how to godmode, unlock all, noclip into out of map areas, etc.
Includes in-game exploits or glitches.
In-game glitches or exploits that provide "mod-menu like" features such as godmode or noclip are prohibited.
Note
This includes “infinite liquid divinium, gobblegum, stat modifiers, etc.” mods and asking, discussing, hinting at them in any way.
Warning
Affiliation with cheating servers are also prohibited as it shows clear intent to eventually or having already used a cheat program or service.
Mod menus are a never allowed.
Do not offer, utilize, or sell cheats, hacks, or menus to others in public channels or through DMs.
Note
Discord ToS states to not distribute or provide hacks, cheats, exploits that provide an unfair advantage. Steam Workshop mod menus and/or World at War prop hunt menus do not provide an unfair advantage, but may be frowned upon. However, this would not be construed as cheating. If you are unsure, please reach out to Modmail to ask if something is allowed.

Rule 9 Follow Discord ToS and Guidelines
It is your responsibility to have read the Terms of Service when you signed up for the platform and to keep updated with it.

Discussion is held within #zombies-discussion. Please do not hold in-depth discussions outside of things like what map or strategy you are going to play in LFG channels.
Do not LFG for any other games besides Call of Duty Zombies.
Roblox Zombies and Left 4 Dead is not Call of Duty Zombies, please do not LFG for this or any other variants.

Applying for Staff
To be a great Staff member, you will be required to read and understand the mechanics of the server in-depth. Ensure you have read every rule, channel, channel description, information and resource channel. The Moderator position is not one of ease and will require critical thinking, reading, and listening skills. In order to apply, you must meet the following requirements:
18+ years of age and fluent in English.
Must work well within a team and remain composed during conflict.
Understand the rules in-depth.
Frequent activity within the server both text and voice.
Must be a member for at least a month.
Must have none or minimal warnings within the server, may not be previously banned.
Know the server well enough to direct users to proper resources. (ex. How do I add roles?)
Must have 2FA (two-factor authentication) enabled on your account.
Must be an active listener and can take criticism well.
Must have a good reputation with the rest of the staff team.
Must have a working, good quality microphone.
Important
As you will be moderating (maybe eventually managing) a multi-ten thousand community, your account must be secure and in good standing. Only those who wish to actually assist the community and the Staff with keeping the server clean will be considered.
If you meet the requirements and desire to help us keep the chat clean and enjoyable for other members, run !apply in the #bot-commands channel. These requirements will be relayed to you through DMs and you will then be asked a series of questions. After completed, you wait for a Staff member to reach out to you if you were accepted. If you were not accepted, that may or may not be relayed to you.

Important
This page serves to act as a database for the inside jokes of the server.
Kindertown
This meme was coined by account memelord56 who asked in the #lfg-vanguard channel, “whwers the power on kindertown” (exact phrase). This meme is iconic for it not only being the worst butchering of Kino Der Toten, presumably by a phone’s autocorrect; but also being in the Vanguard channel.
Also expands into other common butcherings via autocorrect such as "Organs" (Origins), "Mike town" (Nuketown)
WaW Elitist
A phrase used by Jesus Christ in #zombies-discussion calling Salt a "waw enthusiast", later leaving a negative review of the server on Disboard where Staff members Salt and Eternalll were called "elitists". Thus spawning a combination of waw and elitist into "waw elitist". The meme is iconic because there is not a single Staff member whose favorite game is World at War and just makes no sense in general.
Z-Staff
A comment made by ~REDACTED~ in a voice channel where they were begging to be part of the "Z-Staff", presumably short for Zombies-Staff. It is used as an inside joke to refer to the Staff team with many memes and gifs have been made about it.

BO4 underrated
A relatively new meme from #zombies-discussion where BO4 has been called underrated so much, it is the duty of all members to agree and continually mention it being underrated to the point of annoyance. A hilarious meme parodying the AVGN was made in regards to this comment becoming a meme itself.
Hop on Cold War
A (now removed) server sticker that showed a cropped GIF of Frank Woods performing fellatio. It soon became aware to Staff that this was cropped NSFW and was promptly removed. It is still used as a phrase to refer to the act being shown in the GIF.
PHD and Mule kick invented by Cold War
A joke regarding the (unoriginality of the perks) release of Mule Kick (and later PhD) into Black Ops Cold War where players would say it is the "new perk" despite originating in Black Ops 1. Obviously, everyone knows it is not new, but the joke is to claim it is from Cold War as barely anything is original in that game.
The PPSH was never in BO1
A comment made in #zombies-discussion from a self-proclaimed "BO1 addict" where they claimed the PPSH was not in the game. Then, proceeded to admit they never played the campaign and only rarely touched multiplayer.
Barn
A mistake in reference to the map Farm. However, the joke was taken further (as usual) and the funny part is trying to convince other members the map was always called Barn and not Farm. Many hilarious memes have been spawned from this pseudo-gaslight.
First instance of "Barn" being used to reference Farm.
"Barn" becoming a meme within the community.
Dragon Cog
Originating from Zetsubo No Shima game. The word "cog" was misheard by a member to be a rather NSFW word. (dragon c*ck)
Matmano9
A former (short lived) Trial Staff member who has their runescape name tattooed on their arm. Famous for posting pictures of their weed into Staff channels during their Trial and proceeding to advertise their own server claiming that, "advertising to my 1K member server will help your 13K one."
Bundles
A reference to ridiculous weapon skins in a war simulator game such as Call of Duty. Weed skins, anime skins, etc. and the people who buy them.
Round 1 where are all the Zombies
Another Zombies related GIF which was repeatedly posted nearly every day by new members to the point it became memed. The phrase is, "Round 1 where are all the Zombies? Round 30 why are there so many zombies?"
How do I talk in #zombies-discussion
What new members say whenever they join the server and refuse to read anything, wondering why the #zombies-discussion channel is locked to them. Usually, the bot will auto-respond for them to read the channel description. If not, an annoyed Staff or regular member will tell them to do so.
BO3 Kino is the hardest map of all time
A message sent by Sandblock into #zombies-discussion where when asked about why, responded with, "idk". When BO3 kino is brought up, members will jokingly say it’s the hardest map of all time.
The greatest reason for an opinion ever.
raspperz tier list
A tier list made by raspperz with the comment, "map tier list based of nothing just felt like putting maps where they are". It is commonly referenced as the worst tier list in existance. Many great memes have been made in reference to this tier list.

A commonly referenced image from a Google search showing the maps "Kino Der Toten, Gorod Krovi, Shangri-La, and Die Rise" being available in World at War.
Salt’s Moon flop
Clip taken from a streamed game of Moon featuring Eternalll, Devour, and Salt where Salt on high ping attempts to flop zombies from the teleporter platform on Moon, completely failing. It has since been made a sticker and repeatedly memed due to how off the mark the flop was and immediately downing right after.
MP servers are not as toxic
Comment made by a (now deleted) user who when their opinion was disagreed with by the entire channel, proceeded to say, "I think I should go join mp servers they’re not as toxic".
!origins
A command used that invokes a GIF to make poke fun at the ridiculous amount of people who rate Origins and Mob of the Dead as the best maps to exist. Alternatively, !notorigins is used when someone asks why Origins and Mob of the Dead are not on the top of someone’s tier list.
Monkey Bomb Glitch
A cold war exploit in 2020 that plagued the server and the (lack of at the time) moderators in handling the sheer amount of exploiting. Every few messages someone would be asking to "monkey bomb glitch" so much that an auto-reaction with a man throwing trash at their message was made.

2017
December 2017
DEC 11 - Eternalll launches Black Ops 1 on PC and searches for a Der Riese Zombies game. As such, is brought into an empty lobby for several minutes. Having only been on Discord for 4 months, seeks out a Zombies community on the platform. Unable to find a community and disastisfied with the state of the older Zombies games, creates their own.
DEC 11 (5:42 PM) - "Call of Duty Black Ops Zombies" is created. Focusing on only the Black Ops 1 Zombies mode. Roles were handed out manually, there were only a few channels in total. However, member count was slow to start and steadily increased.

Self added roles implemented. The roles at this point are the DLC names.
There are no platform roles, it is PC priority with consoles being an afterthought.

Febuary 2018
FEB 05 - Black Ops II (2) is added as a supported game, expanding the amount of channels and LFG potential. Sometime during this period, World at War profile creation is broken (for the first time).
FEB 08 - Dyno implemented in server for moderation purposes.

Server reaches 200 members.
Black Ops III (3) added to supported games.
Akkrona becomes Moderator in Call of Duty Zombies. (Retired)
FEB 25 - Server reaches 300 members.
March 2018
MAR 05 - Server reaches 400 members.
MAR 06 - Helper and Chat Mod system are established. Now known as Trial Mod and Moderator.
MAR 09 -
Black Ops 4 channel added to discuss the game before release.
Midori becomes main welcoming bot.
MAR 15 -
Zolo becomes Moderator in Call of Duty Zombies. (Retired)
Server reaches 500 members.
MAR 16 - Activision fixes World at War profile creation, allowing players to create profiles again and LFG for World at War.
MAR 29 - Jim becomes Moderator in Call of Duty Zombies (Retired)

APR 06 - Server reaches 750 members.
October 2018
OCT 12 - Black Ops 4 releases and is a disappointment among zombies fans. Effectively killing the server’s chance to grow massively.
OCT 27 - Server reaches 1000 members.
Note
While 1000 members is a milestone achievement. The server had serious issues with retention rates leading to only 215 members joining and staying throughout the rest of 2018.
2019
May 2019
MAY 05 - Eternalll burns out from Discord and Zombies. Individual LFG channels are nuked and only one #zombies channel remains for all LFGs. A hard stop to the growth of the server.
June 2019
JUN 29 - Server reaches 1500 members.
October 2019
OCT 22 -
Server reaches 2000 members.
LFG category and corresponding game channels are returned to the server.
#zombies general chat removed.
2020
February 2020
FEB 12 - Original 2017 leaderboards removed.
March 2020
MAR 18 - Server reaches 3000 members.
Note
The pandemic began worldwide and opened an opportunity for fans of the Zombies franchise to return to their beloved game. It was not, however, the pandemic itself that contributed to a renaissance of zombies and explosion of the server.
April 2020
APR 19 - Spoob becomes Moderator in Call of Duty Zombies. (Retired)

MAY 18 - Server reaches 4000 members.

JUN 13 - Server reaches 5000 members.

Unfortunately this milestone was made due to spam bots. The bots were purged and the legitimate milestone was made a day later.

You understand that in order to perform competent moderation and assist with other functions of the Discord, the following information may be stored on our servers:
Usernames, avatars, and discriminators.
Voice state (How long you have been in a voice channel).
User statuses to scan and find cheat sellers and distributors.
Message content, reactions and total messages sent for leveling and moderation.
This data is used and stored securely only for logging and moderation purposes when requested specifically by Call of Duty Zombies Staff and is not publicly available for viewing.
The bots are instances of Red, an open source Discord bot created by TwentySix and improved by many.
